Periodontics

It encompasses everything related to the treatment of periodontal diseases, that is, those caused by the accumulation of bacterial plaque and tartar in the neck of the teeth, the line of the gum (gingivitis) and below the latter (periodontitis).

Periodontal laser treatment

Periodontitis

We apply new technologies to improve the well-being of our patients.

The use of laser technology in the treatment of pathologies of the mouth brings a lot of advantages that traditional tools can not offer. Not only causes less pain, but also is much more comfortable to use than other types of techniques that can be used for the same purpose. You can access areas of the mouth where traditional tools can not and minimize bleeding and swelling after treatment.

FOX III- Diodes laser

Fox is a laser of 8W diodes of power and 810 nm of last generation, of the most advanced in the market from the technological point of view.

One of its most innovative features is the green beam, which facilitates greater visibility of the operative field; The accuracy of the built-in Jazz sapphire scalpel and the photodynamic therapy with EmunDo are also highlighted, making it a completely unique laser of its kind.

For this treatment, 4 sessions are needed, one session per month and the fourth one after six months.

Periodontitis

Periodontics is the most severe form of so-called periodontal diseases and is usually the result of untreated gingivitis. For it to take place a process is necessary

previous in which the bacterial flora that lodges in the mouth, together with the saliva and other particles form a plaque that adheres to the teeth.

Treatments:

· Curetaje
It basically consists of scraping the surfaces of the roots of the teeth made with instruments called curettes. This scraping has the purpose of eliminating the tartar that accumulates on these surfaces and then smoothing them and leaving them free of impurities.

· Periodontal surgery
Periodontal surgery is a necessary treatment in many patients suffering from periodontitis, the chronic phase of gum disease.

· Periodontal surgery to flap
In these interventions, the periodontist removes a piece of tissue from the gum with a scalpel (in technical jargon, “flap”) to eliminate the pouches that have accumulated in what periodontists call periodontal sulcus.

· Gingivectomy
In patients with periodontitis, it is sometimes necessary to remove damaged fragments of the gum in order to access the periodontal pockets. It is a treatment very similar to flap surgery; but the tissue of the gum that moves away does not reintegrate into the patient’s mouth.

· Gingivoplasty
It is a surgery to improve the appearance of the gum line of patients suffering from gingival recension; the retraction of the gum. For this, the dentist usually uses small tissue grafts of the palate, and thus rebuild the affected area
